My Eldest at School

I just wanted to post some pictures of Keisha in school. Next time we'll upload pictures of her in her PE Uniform. The other girl on the right side is Keisha's classmate, Erisa Yamamoto. She's half Japanese and half Filipino. She's already 6, I think.

My last day of work for the week went pretty horribly. For starters, the rain due to Typhoon Frank was really strong and since I didn't have an umbrella with me, I was soaking wet when I got to the bus. On the bus, the bus I rode didn't go its normal route and I wasn't able to get off where Henry was supposed to pick me up. I had to ride a pedicab while I was soaking wet, wade in floods reaching up almost to my knees, and then when I finally got to where Henry and my mother in law was, we had so much trouble finding an open Western Union as most of the outlets were closed since there was no electricity.

After shopping for some necessities, we headed home and found even more flood. We had to wade through flood that reached above my mid-thigh. When we reached our house I peeled off my soaking wet clothes and I instantly took a bath. I scrubbed myself well and slept through the rest of the night.

You can watch a news clip on what happened to other parts of my country due to Typhoon Frank here.

If you're into paid blogging, then you might want to try Bloggerwave. They are an advertising media on blogs and so far, the lowest price for a sponsored task that I've seen is for $10. Not to mention the fact that the links they ask you to put on your blog are no follow, so this means that your hard-earned Google PR doesn't go down the drain after you accept several opportunities.

The site is simple to use, and if you submit a post for review, normally it gets accepted and approved in 2 working days. So, if you like blogging and don't mind getting paid for it, then by all means try Bloggerwave. It's a great way to make money off of your blog.

A Really Proud Parent

Keisha's first day of school really went well, I should say. I am extremely proud of her as she could handle herself really well, and she didn't cry at all when we left the room. We were waiting for her just outside her classroom door as she danced, sang, and colored her artwork. I was so extremely proud of her when she got three stars for her artwork which was hung on their classroom wall.

When Henry followed us to Keisha's school and peeked on the door with me, I couldn't stop tears from welling down my eyes as I was extremely proud of Keisha. I felt as though time had somehow passed by and my baby was no longer a baby, but a grown up kid.

I am so happy that Keisha's first day at school went well. She played, danced, and made new friends. Best of all, Keisha had a really great time and is looking forward to another day at school tomorrow.

A New Template

It's been months since I changed templates, but I stumbled across this one and I just couldn't help but try it out. I think it looks great, as it still has three columns plus my posts are kept on the left side of the page.

I think I'll be keeping this template on this blog for now, and I plan on changing the template on Keisha's blog when I find a nice three column Blogger template with a kiddie theme on it. Maybe I'll stumble across Spongebob Squarepants, Keisha's favorite cartoon.

What's In A Name?

If I could choose another name for myself aside from Leslie, I guess it would be Rei, it's a Japanese name that means light. One of the reasons why is that since Japanese people cannot pronounce the letter L, my Japanese friend often calls me Rei. Second, I am a fan of Japanese manga and I loved Neon Genesis Evangelion where Rei was a character.

Being a manga fan, I am looking forward to Bleach the Movie. Having watched the animated series at a local network, I love the manga and I wonder how the movie will go. I wonder what Ichigo Kurosaki, whose name means “First Guardian” or “He who protects” will be up to.

First Day of School

I guess tomorrow is every parent's dream - to send their child off to their first day at preschool. Keisha's off to school tomorrow, from 1 in the afternoon up to 3:30. Her classes are just 2 and a half hours every day from Monday to Friday, and Henry and I intentionally chose the afternoon schedule as our eldest is really not a morning person, plus the fact that I would like to spare her the hassle of waking up really early.

My mother in law ironed her uniforms which she'll be wearing from Monday to Thursday, and on Fridays, she'll be wearing her P.E. uniform with rubber shoes. Henry and I took Keisha and Nicole out to SM earlier so that we could buy juices and snacks for Keisha to eat while in school.

Since Keisha didn't sleep this afternoon, she's already out for the night after her night bath. I'm glad she's getting an early rest as she's up for a big day tomorrow.

Out for Two Days

I've been out sick for two days now. I wasn't able to go to work for two days as I felt really bad. Henry and I went to the hospital for a check-up at the Fatima University, and the doctors there took a sample of my blood for a CBC test. I've been with a fever, cough and colds for the past few days and the meds I've been taking seem to be of no good.

I'm still not feeling well, to be perfectly honest, but I have to go to work later tonight. There's so many deductions that have been taken out of my pay, and I can't afford another deduction. There's so many bills to pay and obligations to settle that I can't afford to be out for another day. Since tomorrow is going to be a relatively easy day, I'll just take it easy tomorrow at work.

Keep your fingers crossed that I don't fall into a relapse.
