Dakota Fanning is Cast for New Moon

If you watched I Am Sam, then you'll certainly remember Dakota Fanning. She's a really great child (back then) artist and I just read off the web that she's being considered as cast for New Moon, the second part of the Twilight series.

If everything works out, Dakota Fanning will be playing Jane, a child vampire that has the ability to inflict pain just by looking at you with her angelic face and crimson irises.

Having Dakota Fanning in New Moon would definitely be worth watching, and it just makes me wonder how the movie would turn out, with a new director and new additions to the cast as well.

Planning for Henry's Birthday

I don't know what to cook for Henry's birthday on the 31st. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, since he really doesn't like celebrations. The other day I asked him what he had in mind for his birthday, but all he said was "For as long as I see you and the kids, I'm OK."

Yeah sure, that was sweet, but it still left my question unanswered. I didn't know if he'd like pancit canton, spaghetti, lasagna, or I'm really stumped.

One thing for sure though is I'm buying him a birthday cake that he can sink his sweet tooth in, with matching candles of course. I guess I have to connive with my mother in law and we'll see what we come up with.

Wish me luck!

A Happy Marriage

Henry and I have been happily married for 5 years, but we've been together for almost a decade. Like any other couple, the first few years were hard. I guess it was because it's the phase where you adjust to each other's attitude. But over the years like wine, our relationship just gets better and better.

I thought of listing down some things that we do that I think makes our marriage work. Again, we do have our ups and downs and I'm not saying our marriage is perfect. But these are the things we do together that I think makes everything work.

1. We talk together.
Henry has to be the the person that knows me the best. I don't know how he does it, but he knows when I'm not telling him something, or when what I'm saying isn't really what I mean. Sometimes, he also knows what I want without having me say so, and he also knows when to back away and give me some space.

2. We do stuff together.
Be it watching a movie or cooking lunch, we always do something together. We also have a passion for online games, and we play together as well. We also go some places together, usually if it's a place I've never been to. :P

3. We say how we feel.
There isn't a day that I don't tell him I love him - be it on the phone, in person, or by an SMS. It brightens up my day and I'm sure it brightens up his as well.

4. We pray together.
Every Sunday when we go to Church, Henry and I always offer a silent prayer, usually it's for my kids. But we always pray and we do it together.

5. We share our dreams.
Be it over dinner or while we're looking out our terrace, we always share what we think the future holds for us, or at least what we hope our lives will hold for us in the future. But what we do know is that it'll be something with us together.

A Great Jewelry Website

I came across this great home made jewelry website and I just love the products that are being sold. There are earrings, necklaces, and bracelets in in sterling silver. Other products include copper necklaces, chokers, bracelets, and earrings. They also have Japanese chainmail designs and magnetic jewelries. Of course, such items also have their own home made jewelry cleaner to better keep them shiny and bright!

A Christmas Present

I just wanted to share this present that I received last Christmas.

This little notebook is from our QA supervisor Jerianne. Actually, every QA got his or her own pick of what notebook they'd like. There were many designs to choose from, and when you open the notebook, it's just full of blank pages with no lines. I love how I can draw on one page and write some thoughts or even doodles on the other.

I've never really been into what the present is. I'm actually more for who remembered me. As cheesy as that sounds, it's actually real. As the saying goes, it's the thought that counts, right?

7 Cream

Everybody wants smoother and younger looking skin. Well, who doesn't? There's this new product called 7 Cream with Manuka Honey that promises just that and more. Imagine an all-natural moisturizer that you can also use for treatment of insect bites, fungal infections, and other types of skin problems.

The 20th Day

Since the 1st of this month, I have not been eating rice and I have been moderating my meals in my effort to lose weight. I weighed myself last January 14, and my weight was still the same. For me, it's OK since it means I didn't gain any new pounds. But a lot of people have been commenting that my tummy doesn't bulge as much anymore. I guess I just have to work on my crunches and do some walking to shed the pounds off.

I'm glad that I've been able to stick to the diet that I imposed on myself, and I'm also glad for everyone's support, especially Henry. He makes me wheat bread sandwiches and fixes my meals whenever he's around. Thanks hon. Love you. :)

Me and Henry

This picture was taken right after dinner. I remembered to take the digicam downstairs to snap a few pictures of Keisha's new hairdo, and I snapped one of us together.

The Results

Henry wants the results of his application kept confidential, sorry to disappoint you guys. But what I can say is that things went really well, better than what we expected. So there, that's all I can say.

Hooray Family Movie Night!

The holidays gave me and my family the time to catch up on movies that we've missed over the months. With me working nights and Henry gone almost the entire day, we spend most of our time sleeping. But weekends are a totally different story.

Saturday nights are what we call our movie nights, and we usually curl up in the sofa or take the foam of our bed and spread it on our living room floor equipped with buckets of cheese and butter flavored popcorn, glazed ever so slightly with salt. There are also some days we eat pizza, but it's sort of hard to eat pizza in the dark especially with the toppings falling almost everywhere.

Whenever we plan our Saturday night movie nights, we usually choose movies that teach a moral story, especially for the kids. There are also some nights we watch cartoons that are funny, and some nights we end up watching oldies but goodies movies.

I've heard about the All Roads Lead Home The Movie and I am really looking forward to watching this one with the kids. I'm sure that this movie will teach them a lot of values and has a message that they'll learn a lot from. I like watching movies with a message not just for the kids, but for myself too. I don't want to watch a movie that will leave me with nothing afterwards, wouldn't you? Watch the trailer below and see what I mean.

Henry's Job Application

Henry just got called by a call center he applied for. Yes, he is finally trying his hand out at the call center world. I'm wishing him all the best of luck, since this will be his first time to apply for a job in a call center. He was invited for an exam tomorrow after passing the initial interview through phone.

I am happy in a way that he's getting a first person view of the job I've had for almost 4 years. He'll understand how it feels to sit in a chair all day, with air conditioning making you as cold as possible (since our IT always reasons out that the room needs to be kept cold so that the PCs which are on almost 24/7 don't overheat, without any thought to the people that use it), and taking in unexpected calls and speaking to the best and worst of people.

I wish you all the best hon. I know this career change of yours will be a totally different ballgame compared to the one you've been used to for the longest time. But as always, with whatever you decide, you have my full support. Love you hon!

A New LCD Monitor

We recently bought a new monitor for our PC. My mom joked about us having an old monitor and was asking us when we'd buy a new one. I guess she spoke too soon because the day after she said that, our old monitor got fried so we had no choice but to buy a new one. Henry and I thought that an LCD monitor would be best since it consumes less electricity than a CRT monitor, plus it saves a lot of space. So here's to another new addition to our home!

Our New Year's Eve

This is us having our New Year's Eve dinner/breakfast. Of course I'm not in the picture because someone had to take it!

My Diet

I've resolved not to eat rice until I lose 43 pounds. I wanted to show you what I've been eating for the past 4 days.

I weighed myself last January 1, and I was 65 kilos, or 143 pounds. And guess what? I'm only 5 feet tall. Do I need to tell you that I'm already overweight? Hence, I resolve to lose weight this year.
