Last May 13, I received an email from PayPal saying that my payment has been sent. This left me wondering because I haven't made any online purchases. So I logged into my PayPal account and there it was, I had sent a payment on May 13 to an email address I didn't know.
The first thing I did was to change my PayPal password, and from now on I use the on-screen keyboard when typing my password. I filed a dispute, and crossed my fingers. I did some research, and I tried the recipient's email in social networking sites like Friendster and FaceBook, and I found her in MySpace. She was 22 years old, from Canada, and had a lot of face piercings.
Just today, I logged into my email again and PayPal refunded my "payment" to this unknown person. What scares me is the fact that she was able to access my account and send my PayPal balance to hers. But I am trying to look on the bright side that my account was hacked when I didn't have that much funds in it.

that's pretty scary.... people can do wacky stuff like that, that is why we have to be very vigilant all the time with our safety and security..
That's good that you were refunded and that you were able to trace her..
Leslie, this is scary!; How did she do that? Glad paypal give your money back!
Hi Joops!
Thanks for dropping by. Yeah you're right, the entire experience was really scary. I'm just glad it's over and done with.
Hi Ces!
Hindi ko nga rin alam kung paano nangyari ang lahat eh. Basta may email na lang ako na "Your payment has been sent" eh wala naman akong binabayaran, wala naman akong binibili.
I'm just glad everything's straightened out with PayPal.
