My relatives from Canada are arriving in the Philippines to spend the holidays here. My aunt is already here, someone I haven't seen since I was born (and I'm 27 for crying out loud!). Her son is coming over too, I think on the 20th.

Henry, the kids, plus 2 puppies I guess are coming with us tomorrow to visit her. This will be the first time I'll get to see her, although I've already seen her pictures. Well, I guess there's always a first time for everything.

I'm also excited to see my eldest sister Elena. Even though we always talk on the phone, I'm always excited to see her. We always rant on each other, but that's the way we talk. I'm also excited for them to see my kids, since my mom hasn't seen my kids for several weeks already. I just hope we can stay up to the afternoon so my dad can see the kids as well when he gets home from work around 5PM I think.

A Trip to Bulacan Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Henry and I took the kids to Bulacan as we visited his aunt who came home to the Philippines for a 2 week visit. She's actually a US Citizen and if I'm not mistaken, she lives in California.

I really like visits to the province, especially in Bulacan as my dad is also from that province. We went there last Monday, as that is the only day of the week where I am not too busy with my online writing stuff. I really liked the break, the fresh air, and how my kids got to meet the kids of Henry's cousins.

Along with Henry's aunt, his cousin also came home for a visit. This particular cousin of his is one of his cousins whom he grew up with. I'm glad they got together and bonded again after 10 years of not seeing each other. We weren't able to take a lot of pictures though, but I say the trip went fairly well.

A Happy-Sad Goodbye Sunday, October 04, 2009

Yesterday, we said our happy and sad goodbyes to my mom in law as she flew to Hawaii aboard Hawaiian Airlines. She needs to stay there for 2 years before she can come back to the Philippines for a vacation.

I asked my dad to drive us to the airport so we could use our van. Henry, the kids, me, my sister Elena, my mom in law and her brother plus my dad all came to bid her goodbye. She had been crying the night before and was having second thoughts on leaving.

Today, I already got to chat with her on Skype and she's still crying, especially when she sees the kids. I know in time, she will get used to it. But on the other hand, I am glad that she's seeing how beautiful Hawaii is and how clean it is plus how good the air smells and all of that stuff. In time, especially when she begins to work, I know she'll do just fine.

Missing Henry Sunday, March 01, 2009

I just can't help but feel glum all day. I busied myself with laundry and today, in folding the clothes I washed yesterday. Unfortunately, folding clothes keep only your hands busy, and not your head. I've been missing Henry more and more every day, and even Nicole seems sad without her dad around.

I've been spending most of my time texting him and thinking about him. I can't wait until the 3rd when he gets home.

Henry's gone again. This time he'll be in Banaue and won't be back until March 3. I'm going nuts already since he just came back from Ilocos and he's left again. This inexplicable loneliness of mine is slowly getting the best of me - whenever Henry's not home I just can't bring myself to eat. I don't have the energy to do anything else but mope around the house. I guess I'm just not in the mood to do anything else but be lonely.

It's just a matter of hours before Henry comes home from his trip to Ilocos. He was supposed to come home about lunchtime later but I asked him to go straight home. He still has to wait for his salary at his office around lunch, but he'll just go back there tomorrow to pick it up and spend the night here.

I am so happy and relieved that he'll be home.

Ilocos - Day 3 Saturday, February 21, 2009

Oh well, here's the third miserable day that Henry's not with me. Yeah sure, I totally understand that he's there for work and nothing else, but I just can't help but feel lonely. I've been used to seeing him smile and smelling him beside me but that's all not going to happen until Monday.

I'm really lonely without him although I have the company of my kids with me. I'm just making myself busy with the fact that there's a lot to do at work and that we're taking in calls and I'm making pretty good sales. But when I get home, that's when the loneliness sets in

Ilocos - Day 2 Friday, February 20, 2009

Today's the second day that Henry's off to Ilocos. It's still driving me nuts, and the loneliness is unbearable. I'm beginning to lose my appetite (which is a good thing) but I just can't help but feel sad.

I miss smelling and seeing him goofing around with the kids. I miss him waking me up in the morning before I go to work. I think I'll be OK by Monday afternoon, when he comes back home.

Ilocos - Day 1 Thursday, February 19, 2009

Yesterday up to Monday will be torture for me. Henry's gone on a trip to Ilocos and it's also giving me a trip to the nuthole. I miss him every second.

This isn't the first time he's gone on a long tour. He's actually gone to several long tours, but every single one just feels like new all over.

I miss knowing that he'll be home or that he'll wake me up when the alarm clock buzzes for work. I was actually late in going to work today - I guess I am so used to him being around.

I really miss him, and I am really beginning to be lonely. I just busy myself with the company of my kids and blogging.

I decided to stay away from the computer for about a week (which I thought was a luxury) since it was my birthday and all. So I just checked my email and was not surprised when I found dozens and dozens of spam messages on both my Yahoo! and Gmail accounts.

Since my week long online absence, I forgot to inform you guys that Henry is yet again away on a long trip to Ilocos, but hopefully will be back by the wee hours of the 20th. I'm glad I was able to celebrate my birthday with him, but the pessimist in me won me over as I kept thinking of the days he'd be away instead of cherishing the time he's actually here.

I'm just glad that the wait will be over and that he'll be back soon.

A Beautifully Painful Place Saturday, July 26, 2008

On the 31st of this month, Henry will be off on a long trip to Ilocos again. It's a very beautiful place (although I've never been there yet) and he'll be back around th 4th or the 5th of August. He'll be away for like a week, which is like an eternity for me.

He hasn't even gone away yet but I'm already beginning to be sad. Just imagining that I won't be able to see his face when I get home from a stressful day at work or wake up with his kiss and his embrace during the night is enough to make me cry. There'll be no one to prepare my meals when I wake up and my packed lunch I bring for work.

The money he'll earn will be enough to pay for Keisha's tuition that's due this August. It'll be a great help for our budget. But must we sacrifice time away from each other for our kids. I'll just have to start counting the days before he comes home.

Tomorrow I'll be preparing his clothes for the trip and ironing his shirts as well. With a heavy heart I'll be packing his clothes and I'll eagerly wait for his arrival home.

Shopping with Keisha and Monic Monday, December 17, 2007

A couple of days ago (Dec. 15 to be exact), I went out with my mom in law and Keisha to StarMall to get a couple of clothes from Milk & Co. I wanted my mom in law to see the store; it was really elegant and didn't seem like a stockroom or warehouse at all. There were big, blue couches that Keisha kept tumbling on, while my mom in law and I were busy with the clothes and stuff. Keisha even met a playmate whose name I can't remember right now (lol) who was also 4 years old, and they kept running around the shop.

I got a striped green knitted blouse for myself, a striped red polo shirt for Henry, a green shirt for Monic, and the striped aqua-pink shirt that my mom wanted. Although we didn't get any clothes for Keisha, we did get her a toy sword which she kept wagging around the MRT. I felt as though she was about to make someone blind; good thing she felt sleepy and we were able to take the sword from her.

Keisha ate fried chicken at the food court, while my mom in law and I settled for a slice of pizza each while we were walking, which made it technically brunch. It was a really good day save for the fact that it was tiring, but I wish we had more days like this.

I Lost Php1,000 Yesterday Monday, October 22, 2007

Keisha, my mom in law and I pushed though with our much-anticipated trip to Ongpin yesterday. Our trip was fantastic, except for the unfortunate incident that I only realized while we were already eating out and concluding our trip. I realized that I lost Php1,000 out of the Php3,000 total that we had. I honestly have no idea up to now whether I dropped it from my pocket (which also would be the first time in my lifetime to drop money) or someone had picked it up from my jeans pocket.

I find it sad that my first time to lose money would be that big of an amount, but oh well, there's always a first time for everything. I honestly don't want to think about it anymore as I can't help but feel bad at myself for being so careless, and plus the fact that no matter how had or how often I dwell on it, the money's gone and there's zilch of a chance it'll be back.

We bought Keisha a pair of sandals for her birthday to match her pink dress, a pair of earrings, a ring, a bracelet and a necklace that she refuses to take off and insists on wearing all at the same time. She reminds of a Christmas tree and the holidays that are only a few weeks away. I'm just glad that we were still able to buy almost everything that we planned on buying, except for a pair of shoes for Simone to wear on her older sister's birthday.
