A Happy Marriage

Henry and I have been happily married for 5 years, but we've been together for almost a decade. Like any other couple, the first few years were hard. I guess it was because it's the phase where you adjust to each other's attitude. But over the years like wine, our relationship just gets better and better.

I thought of listing down some things that we do that I think makes our marriage work. Again, we do have our ups and downs and I'm not saying our marriage is perfect. But these are the things we do together that I think makes everything work.

1. We talk together.
Henry has to be the the person that knows me the best. I don't know how he does it, but he knows when I'm not telling him something, or when what I'm saying isn't really what I mean. Sometimes, he also knows what I want without having me say so, and he also knows when to back away and give me some space.

2. We do stuff together.
Be it watching a movie or cooking lunch, we always do something together. We also have a passion for online games, and we play together as well. We also go some places together, usually if it's a place I've never been to. :P

3. We say how we feel.
There isn't a day that I don't tell him I love him - be it on the phone, in person, or by an SMS. It brightens up my day and I'm sure it brightens up his as well.

4. We pray together.
Every Sunday when we go to Church, Henry and I always offer a silent prayer, usually it's for my kids. But we always pray and we do it together.

5. We share our dreams.
Be it over dinner or while we're looking out our terrace, we always share what we think the future holds for us, or at least what we hope our lives will hold for us in the future. But what we do know is that it'll be something with us together.
